Hey everyone - the name's Rachel.

I was born in the middle of the night on a cold February morning. I was a loud one. After all of these years, and to this day even, I don't think my parents ever found my "off" switch. This is probably why I'm an artist and a poet. The day I breathed my first breath of air, I screamed to let everyone know who I was. And as I got older, I was still loud. In preschool I always played 'mom' in make-believe, and I bossed around my older cousin often. I like being in charge, and I like pursing what I want. Call it what you will, but I call it determination. I believe in pursuing dreams, and I strongly dislike limits. The world is an open door that too many people are trying to close.

I'm 16 years old for now. I graduate from high school this year, and I have a lot of goals to follow. My life's dream is to be a mom, to have a family. But to get there, I want to support my family - so I'm going to college to get my piece of paper to prove myself worthy to the world. I think it would be neat to have a studio, or a gallery, or maybe I could even teach art classes to children.

I believe in the impossible. I enjoy challenges, and I'm quite the rebel. I'm proud, but not arrogant. I'm a leader, but I'm not a dictator - I'll leave that to political buffoons.

I enjoy photography, freezing a moment in time just makes me feel kind of powerful. And then being able to share half of that moment makes me feel...wonderful. Photography gives us a chance to remember because we all forget sometimes. Life through pictures is hard to understand unless you've lived it, but I'm happy to share those little moments of mine with you.

Everyone sees the picture differently, and that's okay - as long as we still see something, we've made progress. For it is when we stop seeing, that life might as well end.

You have more than one pair of eyes. Don't ever forget that.

Opening Night

We had our first showing of Our Town tonight, friends. It went.....marvelous. We had a few bumps, but for the most part - it turned out alright! The audience was deeply moved, we saved ourselves once or twice with a few improvs, but the audience couldnt even tell when we goofed up.

All that stress has been a big bubble and my cast and my dear Shane just popped it. ;P
One more showing tomorrow, wish me luck.

You all know that new pictures are always on the way - but I can't quite say when...it's a tad busy, but I will most certainly try to find time over winter break in the least.

The inspiration is flowing like a great big river.
